Introduction

PromptAI is operated by Panthiv Dipan Patel, a sole proprietor in New York, United States ("PromptAI", "we"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the PromptAI website, web dashboard, Chrome extension, and macOS desktop application (the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Password (stored securely using industry-standard hashing)
• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe)

Usage Data

When you use our services, we collect:

• Text you submit for prompt enhancement
• Enhanced prompts generated by our service
• Usage statistics (number of prompts enhanced, feature usage)
• Device identifiers for session management

Prompt text and outputs

The text you submit for enhancement and the text we generate are sent to our AI provider to produce the result. Prompt history is off by default; when it is off we do not keep the text after the request completes, apart from short-lived security logs. When you turn history on, prompts and threads are stored in your account until you delete them. Saved prompts are stored until you delete them.

Context text

When the context feature is on, recent text from the conversation or document you are working in is read at the moment you request an enhancement and sent with the request. It is not stored by us after the request completes.

Skills you enable

We store the list of Skill Library skills you have enabled, and which skills were applied to each stored enhancement when history is on, so the Service can apply them and show you what it did.

Terms acceptance records

When you accept our Terms of Service we record the version accepted, the date and time, the surface (website, desktop application, or extension), your browser or application identifier, and your network address. We keep this record as evidence of the agreement.

Desktop application data

The macOS application stores your sign-in token, your preferences, and, when history is on, a local copy of recent prompts on your Mac. It uses the Accessibility permission only to read the text you selected or the field you are typing in when you press the shortcut, and to paste the result back. It does not record your screen or keystrokes at other times.

Community content

Prompts you publish, your comments and upvotes, and your public profile (display name, bio, avatar) are visible to other users and may be visible to the public.

Chrome Extension Data

The extension reads the contents of the text field you are working in only when you click the PromptAI button or use the keyboard shortcut. It does not read other page content, your browsing history, bookmarks, or passwords. It stores your sign-in token, plan details, and preferences in Chrome's synced extension storage, and a device identifier in local storage so we can enforce the one-device rule.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain our prompt enhancement service
• Process your transactions and manage your subscription
• Send you service-related communications
• Improve and optimize our services
• Enforce our single-device policy per account
• Protect against fraud and unauthorized access
• To apply the skills you enabled and, on Pro plans, to choose relevant skills automatically for a request.
• To keep evidence that you accepted our Terms and which version.
• To send you notices about changes to the Terms or the Service, and, with your consent, product updates.

Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data:

• All data is transmitted using TLS/SSL encryption
• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms
• Payment data is processed by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant)
• We use secure cloud infrastructure with regular security updates

We follow the New York SHIELD Act's reasonable-safeguards requirements, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, row-level access controls in our database, and optional multi-factor authentication for your account.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Prompts you enhance are kept only as described in "Prompt history" below. You can request deletion of your data by contacting us at support@promptai360.com.

Terms acceptance records are kept for as long as your account exists and for six years afterward. Context text is not retained. History and saved prompts are kept until you delete them or delete your account; account deletion removes them within 30 days except where we must keep a copy for legal reasons.

Prompt history

By default, we do not keep the prompts you enhance. Your text is sent to the enhancement service, the result is returned to you, and the record is deleted within 25 hours of its last update. That window exists so that follow-up refinements can build on what came before; nothing survives it.

History is an optional setting, off unless you turn it on. With History on, each thread — your original text, the enhanced prompt, and every refinement — is kept in your account until you delete it, so you can return to it from the extension, the Mac app or the website.

You can delete a single thread from your History, or delete everything at once from Settings › History in your dashboard. Deletion is immediate and permanent. The same screen turns History off again, which deletes the threads it had been keeping.

You can download your entire History as a JSON file from Settings › History. The export contains every thread and every refinement in it.

Stored prompts are visible to you only, and are never used to train any model, ours or anyone else's.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We share your data only with the following service providers, solely for the purposes described:

• OpenAI: We send the text you submit for enhancement to OpenAI's API to generate improved prompts. No personal account information is shared with OpenAI.
• Stripe: When you subscribe, your payment information is sent directly to Stripe for secure payment processing. We do not store your full card number.
• Google: If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google OAuth. We do not access any other Google account data.

We may also disclose your information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to comply with legal processes.

Sub-processors

We share personal data only with providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that restrict their use of it:

We do not sell personal data and we do not use your prompt text to train machine-learning models. We may disclose data to comply with law, enforce our Terms, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a transfer of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

Your Rights

You can view and change most account data in the dashboard, export your prompt history, turn history and the context feature on or off, and delete your account. You may also email support@promptai360.com to ask for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, or to delete it; we respond within 30 days.

If you live in California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act to know what personal data we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising.

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your data on the basis of performing our contract with you (running the Service), our legitimate interests (security, product improvement, and keeping evidence of agreements), and your consent where we ask for it. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to complain to your data-protection authority. Data is processed in the United States.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
