About PromptAI
A tool built by a developer who got tired of typing the same thing over and over.

Hi, I'm Panthiv Patel
I built PromptAI because I kept doing the same thing every single day: opening ChatGPT, Cursor, or Claude Code, and typing some variation of “you are a senior software engineer, here is the context, here is the task, respond in markdown, keep it concise” — over and over. Not once or twice. Dozens of times a week, across every AI tool I used. It was pure muscle memory, and it was wasting real time.
The painful part wasn't the typing — it was that I knew exactly what a good prompt looked like (role, context, task, format, constraints), I just didn't want to build it from scratch every time. So in late 2025 I built a Chrome extension that does it for me. One click, and my rough idea becomes a structured prompt I'd actually be happy to send.
Shipping that extension taught me that the problem is universal: designers, writers, marketers, and developers were all dealing with the same friction. The extension hit 5,000 enhanced prompts faster than I expected, which told me there was more to build. That's when I started on the desktop app — a native macOS client that lives in your menu bar and enhances prompts before they ever hit the chat interface.
Right now I'm focused on making the tool genuinely invisible: something that sits between your brain and any AI assistant, makes your input better, and gets out of the way. No extra tabs, no dashboards, no prompt libraries to manage.
What we believe
Better prompts beat bigger models
For most real-world tasks, a well-structured prompt to GPT-4.1-mini outperforms a lazy prompt to any frontier model. Prompt quality is the highest-leverage variable most people ignore.
AI tools should disappear into your workflow
Another tab, another app to learn, another context switch — that's the wrong direction. PromptAI should feel like an invisible layer that makes existing tools work better.
Your prompts are not training data
We don't store your original text or enhanced output for model training. What you type stays between you and the AI you're talking to.
Ship early, fix fast
We're a small team moving quickly. Things break. We'd rather be honest about it and fix problems fast than pretend we have a 99.99% uptime SLA we can't back up.
Where we are now
The Chrome extension has been live since 2025. It carries a 5.0-star rating with 3 reviews on the Chrome Web Store, and has enhanced over 5,000 prompts for users working across ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, Gemini, and other AI tools.
The macOS desktop app is shipping on May 13, 2026 as part of our Product Hunt launch — a native menu-bar app that works with any AI interface on your Mac, browser or otherwise. Windows support is on the roadmap for Q3 2026.
Pricing starts at $7.99/month and includes a 5-day free trial. There's no usage cap during the trial — use it on real work and decide from there.
